My first review! - Part 1, Orly Secret Society collection

Yes, you read the title correctly - this is Part 1 of a review post.  As my blog header states, these products were purchased by me, so nothing to disclose.  Damn legal issues....anyway, I don't plan on making a habit of this, so I may as well do this one right.

This came about because a friend and fellow blogger - Dionne @ Glittery Fingers and Sparkling Toes - had posted reviews of some polishes from the Orly Surreal collection.  She wasn't able to buy the Secret Society collection yet, but when I told her I had them, she threatened me with bodily harm  asked me nicely to swatch them.  So here is the collection:

Now before I get started, keep in mind:  I don't do reviews.  Like I said, this is kind of a one off thing for me, so take it for what it's worth.  I have not found (let's face it, I didn't look THAT hard) any Orly official descriptions of the colors.  Their website doesn't show the collection yet, and most of the press release images I have seen only have circular swatches of the colors...so, all the descriptions are going to be my own.   Finally, all are finished with Rush 60 second High Speed Top Coat.  Here are the first 3, in no particular order.  Are you ready?

Macabre Masquerade
It is a royal blue with what looks like red, green, gold, and silver-colored micro glitters.  In the photos and swatches I have seen, I thought this was a jelly, but it's actually a TON of blue micro glitters (along with the other colors) in a tinted blue base.  After the first coat, I was a little bit nervous 'cause I went without undies.  I ended up doing 4 coats of this, and I'm pretty pleased with the look.  Still a TINY bit of VNL to my eye, but I'm pretty sure no one else will be looking that closely.

What's the Password?
A burnt orange foil with orange and a lot of gold sparkle.  I was hoping this would be more coppery, but I LOVE it! I have been on a orange-copper-bronze kick for the last couple of weeks, so it's all good.  This is 3 coats.

Risqué Encounter
A tomato red jelly....this is 4 coats.  I had a hard time trying to get color accurate photos of this one.  The second photo is the closest - unlike a couple of the photos show, it is more red than orange.  No top coat was even needed.

So, those are the first three...stay tuned; the next half of the review will be up pretty soon.  Until then!
