NOTD for 8/3/2015: KBShimmer

Hello again!  This is a NOTD, but it isn't today's unfortunately.  I've been a bit lazy - this year - with blogging, and I figured that since I just took this mani off, maybe I should get this post published.  Sigh...


I haven't really bought any crellies lately; my shimmer obsession has kicked into overdrive, and that is the target of my polish buying.  But I had this one on my wishlist, and my friend Natalie at Over the Top Coat (but you'll have better luck finding her on Instagram at @vashtiaa) sent me an AWESOME random gift package with a LOT of pretties in it, and this KBShimmer was in there.


I LOVE it!  It's a really good nude shade for my skin tone, and the glitter keeps it from giving me mannequin hands.  The Crows Toes I used for the accent was another of the gifts from Natalie, and it matched the glitter really, really well.

Crumpet's 52 week challenge - Week #4

Week #4 - 70's and/or grey + color

I'm back, and this is a week I've been dreading.  I didn't want to do the grey & color theme, because that would be easy.  I decided at the beginning that I was going to do the 70's, but how do I do it without it looking like...the 70's?  Avocado green, mustard yellow, rust, shag carpet...if you were alive and cognizant in that decade, you know what I'm talking about.

I ended up searching for some images, and came across 3 that I incorporated into this week's challenge, and I gotta say, I'm pleasantly surprised.  This works as an OK fall mani.  Yay me!

T.I.O.T. (Try It On Tuesday) - 10/22/2013

Here we are again - another TIOT post with Gini @ SassyPaints.  I picked a neutral this week, but oh, what a neutral this is.  I. LOVE. THIS. POLISH!!  I have become a little fanatical with Different Dimension polish, and this is just another one of her beautiful creations.  It is really new to my collection, but it would not be denied!

NOTD: Saturday 9/14/2013

Quick post.  Put this mani on Friday night, very late.  I had a really busy day on Saturday, and did not have a chance to do a good clean-up...well, let's be honest.  I didn't do ANY clean-up.  Don't judge.

Mish Mash Challenge #5: Music

Ah, music...I wasn't sure what I was going to do for this week.  I got a stamping plate from Cheeky that I wasn't expecting for a couple more weeks, so I was going to do the music notes, staff, instrument thing, but then...the VMA's happened (and just an FYI - this is one of the rare posts where I have video's embedded; with this challenge topic, I couldn't pass up the opportunity).  For those that don't know, MTV has an annual Video Music Award program, and no, it is not Miley Cyrus inspired.  That would have been a nude colored polish with a mouth and tongue accent nail...oh yea, and a foam finger worked in somewhere...

NOTD: Saturday 8/10/13

Relatively quick post today - I needed a change from my Mish Mash manicure, and had a craving for something neutral.  I have gotten in the habit of doing an accent nail, and today is no different.

I would say this is unusual for me, but lately, I don't have a usual.  Whatever grabs me, I go with.  It's a little more fun not being predictable, isn't it?

T.I.O.T. (Try It On Tuesday) - 7/16/2013

Not like I'm not crushed for time already, so hey, let's get in on another challenge!!  OK, so I don't think I can really call this a "challenge"...it's more of a "motivation".

Gini @ SassyPaints is hosting her "Try It On Tuesday", and has it open to anyone who wants in.  The details for this are **here**.  Basically, it is a way to get through your untried polishes.  No themes, no color schemes..no rules, EXCEPT it has to be an untried.  Simple, yes?   I don't even KNOW how many untrieds I have in my stash, so this is perfect for me to get through them.   How am I doing it?  Close my eyes, reach and wear.
