Mish Mash Challenge #1: Purple

Hi all!  I have been away for a while...longer than I had anticipated.  I'm in a funk, and not liking anything that goes on my nails.  <<sigh>> I hope this doesn't last too long, especially with the kick-off of Kimber's Amazing Challenge Ladies new challenge.  I have a page of info on it (you can see the tab under my banner), if you are interested.  It's running for 30 weeks, so jump on in!

I had two other purple manicures done and ready to photograph...and they came off before I took any pictures.  Just not happy.  Then I looked in a box of indies I haven't put away yet, and there was this little purple bottle of pretty.  I bought this because of a review Gini from SassyPaints had done on this color; you can find it here

The color?  Lilac Lady by Delightful Handmade Lacquers.   She's on vacation right now, but the link to her store is here

The photos are not exactly color accurate - the polish has got a little more red to it than you may see; the photos make it look more like a blue-purple.  I used 3 coats, and Sally Hansen Insta-Dri to top it off.  Lilac Lady dries to a really nice satin finish, but I wanted shiny.

Sometimes, you gotta go with a simple manicure.  I am so looking forward to everyone else's contribution this week...take a look with me!

See ya soon!

    1. This is a pretty weak holo - it barely comes out in the sun. But, in quite a bit of the indoor lighting in my house, it shines enough to give it a beautiful glow.

  2. This is such a pretty color. And we all get in those funks, and I usually go with just a simple mani too. Don't worry, it won't last long :)

  3. I get into a funk quite a bit too. I a was actually feeling the same way when I posted my mani, well I still am. I think I have yet another case of the blogger blues mixed with pre-birthday blues. I always get a little down in the dumps and kind of b***hy when my birthday rolls around. I hope you snap out of it soon hun. :) I agree that the holo is week on this one and it is hard to photograph the correct color! I wonder if she's ever opening her shop back up, she's been on "vacation" for a long time now.

  9. I prefer it shiny, too. This is an apropos glorious purple start to the challenge! As for the polish blues, it's comes with the territory. Not to worry. It passes eventually. The cure? Oh, I recommend reading favorite and new nail blog, and cruising the halls of Pinterest (viewing all manner of beauty) does wonders for sparking the creative juices.

And its good to know that simple is always simply perfect.
