NOTD: Sunday 8/11/13

So the manicure I did for yesterday - that I was planning on wearing for 2 or 3 days - got destroyed in 24 hours.  Here is my replacement.  I LOVE THIS COLOR!  Well, actually, that should read "these colors".  This is two different polishes - one scatter holo and one texture.  Two different brands, but colors matched so well, I had to mix.

THIS PHOTO TAKEN IN DAYLIGHT - OVERCAST.
NO SUNSHINE HERE TODAY.

So, how did I destroy a manicure less than 24 hours in?  I was moving a lap desk; one of those 'C' shaped desks that you can use while sitting on the couch.  I was doing homework on my futon, and was holding it underneath (where you can adjust the angle of the desk) while moving it.  I got it over the wooden arm of the futon, and one of my cats jumped on it from across the room and crushed two of my fingers between the two.  I panicked and yanked my hand out, but unfortunately it scraped the polish almost completely off two of my fingers.  I can't believe I didn't break one of my fingers...damn! it was painful.

At least I have a good excuse to change my polish - not that you ever really need a good excuse!

Polishes used:
L.A. Girl:  3D Effects- Teal Dimension (teal jelly - holographic)
Love and Beauty by Forever 21:  Sand Lacquer - Blue Jewel (textured, on ring finger & thumb)

HOLOGRAPHIC
TEXTURE

The L.A. Girl holographic polish is from CherryCulture.com and was $4.00. The texture polish is from Forever21.com, and was a whopping $2.80.  I got other L.A. Girl "3D Effects", and they are freaking awesome!  I could not stop staring at this on my nails.

The texture is packed full of glitters - blue, green and purple, and dries to a really nice finish (for a texture).  If you like things smooth, you'll have to pass on this.  The glitters in the 3D holographic...I just can't describe, and the photos are really not doing them any justice.

PHOTO WAS TAKEN WITH FLASH.

Now, let's see if I can make THIS one last longer than a day!

See you for the next Mish Mash challenge post on Wednesday.
