T.I.O.T. (Try It On Tuesday) - 12/24/2013

Merry Christmas Eve!  I don't have much going on this year for the holidays, so it's just business as usual for me...and it's Tuesday, so time for a post.

I am in LOVE with the Satin Glam polishes from Sally Hansen.  There are 8 colors released so far, and I have 4...I only bought the neutral colors, and I am kicking myself.  Thankfully, these aren't limited edition polishes, so plenty of time to pick them up.

This is 3 coats - NO TOPCOAT.
Indirect sunlight.

Polish used:

The polishes I've used so far in this line are gorgeous!!  There is so much sparkle, even when you leave it a satin finish.  Add a topcoat, and it is almost blinding!  My camera didn't like it too much when I tried to take photos in the sunshine today...

I'm torn about sunshine this time of year.  It is awesome when it's sunny this time of the year, but it is almost guaranteed that sun + clear skies = freeze your ASS off temperatures.  The thermometer when taking these photos read a whopping 8 degrees.

I wish you could REALLY see the difference between the satin finish and the glossy topcoat.  But I think I caught enough of a hint at it.  It just doesn't really want to photograph...

Direct sunlight.
I tried to get a good close-up of the polish - this is without any topcoat.  It almost looks textured, doesn't it?  The finish is almost smooth as glass.  I really can't say enough about this polish.

Direct sunlight.
WITHOUT topcoat.
That's all I've got for today...trying to stay warm and get my fingers hydrated.  I swear, five minutes after moisturizing with lotion or cuticle oil, my skin is back to being sandpaper dry.  Gotta love winter!

Hope everyone has a festive Christmas eve and day.  STAY SAFE!

Liz

  1. Thank you for posting swatch photos of one of the new Sally Hansen's! I've been wondering how the Satin Glam collection looked since first hearing about it! Your swatch photos make it look lovely! I don't think I'd even want to go outside in 8 degree weather, so I applaud you for taking photos (and freezing your fingers) all for the sake of sharing this beautiful polish!

    1. Thanks for the comment! It was a fluke that I bought these...I was looking for a beige gold polish, instead of a yellow gold. Does that make sense? I found the display, and was surprised with the amount of sparkle that came through the bottles. I decided to buy the neutrals - Merry Christmas to me! - and have worn 2 so far. I'm happily surprised with both of them - highly recommend.
